FAQ

  • The healing process for permanent makeup procedures is unique to each individual. Microblading typically takes four to five weeks, Ombre Powder Brows three to four weeks, and Nano Brows four weeks. While the healing time varies, you can expect your brows to achieve their final color within four to five weeks.

  • While permanent makeup procedures may cause a slight sensation, they are not as uncomfortable as traditional brow waxing or tweezing. We can employ numbing cream to minimize any discomfort. Additionally, the process is considered far less invasive than conventional tattooing and is typically less painful.

  • Each permanent makeup treatment is tailored to the individual's needs, as no two brows are precisely the same. The typical procedure takes between one and three hours, encompassing the design and preparation of your desired eyebrows. We prioritize precision and quality, ensuring that you leave with flawlessly defined brows.

  • As your skin heals following your initial permanent makeup procedure, the pigment may fade slightly (30-40%), and you may experience some peeling and scabbing. This is a natural part of the healing process.

To ensure that your permanent makeup remains as vibrant and defined as possible, we schedule a touch-up session within 4-6 weeks of your initial procedure. During this session, your artist will meticulously refine the color and shape of your brows, ensuring that they look their absolute best.

A touch-up session is not only about correcting any imperfections; it's also about enhancing the overall appearance of your permanent makeup. Your artist will skillfully blend the pigment for a seamless and natural look, achieving the sculpted brows of your dreams.

Remember, permanent makeup is an investment in your beauty routine. A touch-up session is a small price to pay for maintaining the flawless brows you deserve.

Here are some additional benefits of a touch-up session:

    - Enhances color vibrancy: The touch-up session will add more pigment to areas that may have faded, resulting in a more saturated color.

    - Refines shape: Your artist will carefully adjust the shape of your brows to ensure they are perfectly aligned with your features.

    - Maximizes longevity: A touch-up session helps extend the lifespan of your permanent makeup, keeping your brows looking their best for longer.

Factors like skin type, lifestyle, excessive bleeding during the procedure and compliance with aftercare will effect healed results and pigment retention in the skin. Some clients may require additional sessions to achieve their desired results and will be charged accordingly.

Three days before your PMU appointment, discontinue waxing.

No Fish Oil, Vitamin E, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve or anything containing Niacin for one week. Do not discontinue use if these are prescribed by your doctor.

No aggressive facials, chemical peels, suntans/sunburns on the face 2 weeks prior. No Botox for 3 weeks prior. You may resume Botox 3 weeks after.

Discontinue Vitamin A, Retinol and Retin-A for 1 month.

  • Immediately after procedure: Slight redness and tenderness of the skin.

First few days: Brows will appear darker and thicker than they will be once they’ve healed. The skin may feel tight, dry and itchy.

After approximately 5 days skin will begin to flake and peel. Allow this skin to shed on its own! It is normal for it to appear as though some or all of the pigment has disappeared but there is still pigment under the surface! Also, it’s normal for pigment to appear warmer than what it will be. Healed results aren’t visible for about a month. Trust the process!

Two to Six Weeks Post-Procedure: Color may appear patchy and may need to be darkened. This is completely normal and it’s the reason why permanent makeup is often a two part process (first appointment and touch up appointment).

Please note, healed results vary from one individual to the next. MIKIBEAUTY does not guarantee healed permanent makeup results for anyone.

  • It is advised to email your permanent makeup artist with clear pictures for approval first, before booking your appointment online.

The tattoo must be VERY faded in order to work over or corrected.

Working over other artists work is often times more work than working on a blank canvas and for that reason we DO NOT touchup other artist’s work for touchup pricing.

  • alIn general, most cosmetic tattoos last 1 to 3 years. Many factors determine how long your PMU will last. Skin type, lifestyle, excessive sun exposure and medical conditions are just a few of these variables. The permanent makeup technique used is also part of what determines longevity. Powder & Combination brows last longest while Microblading fades the fastest. Permanent makeup is low maintenance, not no maintenance. Touch-ups should be expected. Touch ups/color refreshers are recommended every 1 to 3 years.

  • Nano Brows is the next generation of microblading. The technique of Nano Brows uses a tattoo machine to inject the pigment into the skin, because the Nano technique does not cut the skin. It is less invasive and is a less traumatic technique for the skin in comparison to the microblading technique.

    What is Nano Brows?

The Nano Brow Technique is a state-of-the-art method of creating realistic hair strokes using a tattoo machine and a single needle. This technique is much less invasive than traditional methods, resulting in less pain and minimal bleeding during the procedure. The needle is used to implant pigment into the skin in a manner similar to a sewing machine, where each individual dot is placed without affecting the surrounding skin.

The result is a series of small dots that line up to create natural-looking hair strokes. Because of its less invasive nature, the Nano Brow Technique has become a popular choice among clients who prefer a more comfortable and effective alternative to traditional microblading methods.

The Nano Brow Technique is suitable for all skin types and can last up to two years. Its popularity in the industry is due to its ability to deliver high-quality, long-lasting results that satisfy the needs of a wide range of clients.

    What is Microblading?

Microblading is a technique that uses a handheld tool that resembles a small scalpel. The technician uses this tool to manually create realistic hair strokes by carving into the skin with a pigment-dipped blade, creating a small incision similar to a paper cut. However, clients with textured, oily, mature, or thin skin may experience bleeding during the procedure, which can cause the hair strokes to blend together and appear less defined. This can result in a shorter lifespan for the microblading, typically ranging from 6 months to 2 year, and why this procedure is not recommended for clients with problematic skin types.
